5 out of 5 starsI initially reached out to Garage Door Installation and Repair, LLC to just get an inspection on our garage door system as a whole and to get an estimate to insulate the door. I was immediately contacted by Jose who had availability to come by and look at the system that same morning. Jose arrived promptly as agreed upon and conducted his inspection. After his inspection, he reviewed his summary and why/how he came to the conclusions he did. We needed a new spring due to its age and due to the fact that the motor was barely rated enough to operate the weight of the door (builders grade where they do the bare minimum to get approved). Jose recommended adding a spring as well to help the current motor lift the door. Additionally, Jose discussed the pros and cons of adding insulation to a current door and the benefits of buying a new door with insulation already built-in. At no point did I feel that Jose was trying to up-sell me; he just provided me some facts so that I could make the best decision for our needs. He left some notes for my wife and I to discuss before making a final decision. That same evening, I had additional questions, so reached out to Jose and he took the necessary time to answer them; again to help us make the best decision for our needs. At the end of our conversation, we decided to go with a new garage door with insulation already built in, but to keep the original motor as it was sufficient for the new door with two springs. Jose had availability to install the door the following week and Jose ensured that the new door was exactly the same as the old door to meet our HOA rules. For door installation, Jose arrived per the agreed upon time and replaced the garage door. It didn’t take long and at the end of the install, he took the time to explain what he did. As my wife was home for the install, she and Jose provided me some notes so that I was comfortable with what took place. Jose also stated that the current motor was capable enough to handle the weight of the new door, but that if I had any questions, to reach out. The door also came with a 3-year warranty. After arriving home, I had reservations about not replacing the motor, so I reached out to Jose to ask questions about that. He provided me information about the type of motors he would recommend and choices on purchasing on my own or allowing him to purchase and install. Again, making me feel comfortable about what was best for our needs. We decided on a LiftMaster motor (purchased and installed by Jose) and settled on a day for installation. For motor installation, Jose arrived per the agreed upon time, installed the motor, and keypads and all of the peripherals very quickly and ensured that we had the phone app installed on our phones and that everything was working before his departure. When it was all said and done, Jose was responsive, informative, and communicative. The prices he offered for each step was affordable no matter what material was chosen and his installation was very professional. All of the materials also came with a 3-year warranty.
